Our philosophy is simple: find the best instructors available and let them teach what they know best.  NYT has been blessed by many wonderfully gifted teachers who also have a love of God. These classes are an opportunity for students to learn a skill they didn’t have or fine tune previously-acquired skills. Our aim – whether through classes, productions, or camps – is to provide students with life skills that will serve them well now and in the future, as well as strengthen their faith as they engage with the world.

FALL 2018 CLASS LINE-UP

NEW!! — TEEN INTENSIVES!
You teens told us that you are busy, and that committing to 9 weeks of classes is difficult with work, school, and other activities.  So we have broken your classes into 3 manageable, 3-week intensives; take 1, 2, or all 3 intensives.  The choice is yours! Come prepared to work hard, practice some at home, learn lots, and have a great time.  You will be amazed at what you will learn in that short amount of time!
1 intensive $99 (no early bird), 2 intensives $125 (early bird $115), 3 intensives $149 (early bird $125)

Drama Intensive (ages 12-19; 9/4 – 9/18) – Come hone your acting skills as we explore dramatic scenes from Tony-award winning plays. Instructor: Justin Parks. Class size: 15.

Dance Intensive (ages 12-19; 9/25 – 10/9) – We will focus on both jazz & swing, which will build great skills that translate into all areas of musical theater dance. This class will be high energy and lots of fun! Instructor: Leah Claxton. Class size: 15

Vocal Intensive (ages 12-19; 10/16 – 10/30) – Our goal is that our students will learn and recognize good vocal and performance technique for use in their everyday practice and theatrical performance. Through a variety of vocal exercises, master classes, games, and individual instruction, they will discover their full vocal potential. They will gain insight into the many capabilities of the vocal instrument by learning proper breathing techniques, recognizing and diagnosing common vocal issues, and many others!  Instructors: Andy Barreras & Mehgan Thomasson. Class size: 15 students.

Triple Threat (ages 8-12) – Come sing, act, and dance your way onto the stage!  This class is unique in that you will get to experience all three aspects of musical theater!  Each semester teachers change their curriculum, so the more you take this class the more you learn!  It will be a fun and unique experience each time! Over the course of 9 weeks, you will rotate through 3 weeks of voice, 3 weeks of acting, and 3 weeks of dance … and watch out … you may just come out as a Triple Threat!  3 great teachers join forces in this class:  Holly Jasso (drama), Tori Tamez (dance), and a vocal instructor to be announced.  Class size:  45 students.

Musical Theater FUNdamentals (ages 6-7) – Come play with us and learn about musical theater.  We will have fun playing games while we learn how singing, dancing, and acting all work together to tell a story. Instructor: Bailey Alexander.  Class size: 12 students.
